Five New Year Resolutions for Self-Improvement Plan
(1) Step Out of the Professional Comfort Zone
According to Rupanjali Mitra Basu, stepping out of the professional comfort zone is quite necessary for success in professional life. The comfort zone prevents you from improving, it stops you from achieving all the things you are capable of achieving and it makes you miserable. So, make a decision today to change something in your life that you are unhappy with and start experiencing positive changes.
(2) Learning New Skills
There is always an endless list of new things everyone should keep on learning for professional growth. Learning a new skill helps you keep your brain healthy and your mind sharp. Not necessary must be something that useful for your career, you may choose to learn for leisure, like attending a cooking class, a martial art class, a yoga class or even experience VR games as it helps to improve your self-confidence.
(3) Develop a Gratitude Habit and Give Back
Research shows that the simple act of expressing gratitude can literally change the way we feel. By giving and by expressing your gratitude there would be a reduction in stress at the workplace, better job satisfaction and happiness for the accomplishment of goals.
(4) Better Communication Skills
Communication is the key to good employee engagement at the workplace and increased productivity as well. The majority of jobs require employees to have good communication skills so that they can express themselves in a positive and clear manner, both when speaking to people and in writing. Clearness is one of the greatest examples of good communication skills in the workplace, in a relationship, in an interview or for a resume.
(5) Maintain Work-life Balance
Work-life balance is very necessary as it gives relief from the stress at the workplace. Workplace stress is a major cause of many health issues like hypertension, fatigue, heart problems, digestive ailments, etc.
