(MHIET) <\/strong>announced their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mhi.com\/news\/21082601.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" title=\"Click for Official Press Release\">first achievement test<\/a> in Japan&#8217;s joint project. They have demonstrated mixed-fuel combustion with city gas and hydrogen using a commercial gas engine for a cogeneration system and successfully running the operations with a 35% hydrogen mixed fuel-burning ratio (by volume).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This demonstration test was conducted at Toho Gas Technical Research Institute in Tokai, Aichi Prefecture, using a GS6R2-PTK commercial gas engine rated at 540 kW from MHIET.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This testing aims to acquire knowledge to facilitate city gas and hydrogen mixed-fuel combustion for existing cogeneration systems already installed at customer sites without extensive equipment renovation. City gas and hydrogen mixed-fuel combustion typically have issues of abnormal combustion (backfiring, knocking, preignition). Still, the tests confirmed that a stable combustion state is possible by adjusting the input ratio of fuel and air and other modifications.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s just the beginning of the project.
