05 August 2024Strengthening Community Safety with the Singapore Police Force
On 26 July 2024, Power Partners Group was honoured to host an SGSecure talk at our Tampines Industrial Drive location. Led by Mr. SSS Victor Kwan, Community Policing Officer from Tampines NPC, Bedok Division, this session provided our team with crucial insights into crisis preparedness and response.
Key Takeaways: What To Do in a Crisis
During the presentation, Officer Kwan shared vital instructions for handling emergencies, especially in the context of a terrorist attack:
RUN, HIDE, TELL
- RUN: Quickly leave the danger zone if it is safe to do so.
- HIDE: If escape isn’t possible, find a secure hiding place and stay quiet.
- TELL: Contact the authorities via 999 or the SGSecure app to report the situation.
PRESS, TIE, TELL
In the event of injuries:
- PRESS: Apply firm pressure on wounds to control bleeding.
- TIE: Use a bandage or cloth to secure the wound.
- TELL: Call emergency services for immediate help.
These directives highlight the importance of being ready to protect yourself and others during crises.
The posters from SGSecure outline the critical actions to take in a crisis.
The Importance of Preparedness
Officer Kwan emphasized that being prepared is essential and should be seen as an ongoing responsibility. Having the right knowledge and tools, such as the SGSecure app, can significantly enhance our readiness to respond effectively to potential threats.
